Features:
1. Equipped with a 7-inch color touchscreen HMI for convenient display of detailed test parameters. The system automatically records impact height, drop weight mass, impact velocity, and other relevant data. After impact, the operator indicates whether the specimen has failed, and the system automatically calculates the True Impact Rate (TIR) or the 50% failure height (according to the staircase method). A Russian-language interface is supported.
2. Comprehensive safety protection is implemented at the electrical, mechanical, and software levels, including upper and lower limit switches, software travel limits, leakage protection, short-circuit protection, electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection, electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding, and protection against operator misoperation.
3. The specimen support table is equipped with a motorized drive for vertical adjustment, enabling rapid and precise automatic zero positioning. Interchangeable V-shaped anvils are provided to accommodate pipes of various diameters, in compliance with standard test requirements.
4. The system supports automatic zero positioning, automatic gripping of the striker after impact, and automatic lifting of the striker, ensuring a streamlined, efficient, and intelligent testing workflow.
5. A pneumatic release and gripping mechanism is employed. The release system features automatic locking in the event of compressed air failure, ensuring safe and reliable operation. This design eliminates common issues associated with electromagnetic systems, such as cable fatigue from repeated flexing, current leakage, and striker slippage. A 100% reliable secondary impact prevention system is incorporated. The gripping mechanism utilizes a two-point long-stroke cylinder (300 N) with a wear-resistant polyurethane contact surface to ensure secure engagement. Compared to traditional electromagnetic systems, the pneumatic design provides greater gripping force with no risk of coil burnout.
6. The striker lifting mechanism operates smoothly and reliably. The impact height is adjustable within the range of 50 mm to 2000 mm. Automatic height calibration is provided with an accuracy of ±2 mm.
7. The base frame features a twin-lead-screw and four-column mechanical design, ensuring excellent stability and rigidity. The drop weight assembly adopts a modular design, allowing for convenient weight adjustment by adding or removing supplementary weights.
Applications: PE/PPR/PVC/PERT Pipe factory outgoing inspection, scientific research, production R&D, teaching and training, third-party testing centers.

Falling Weight Impact Tester – FAQ
Q1: What are the main components of the Falling Weight Impact Tester StarLink-Test ?
A: The system mainly consists of two parts: the control console and the impact test frame. The control console features a touchscreen interface for setting impact height, printing test reports, and automatically calculating the TIR (True Impact Rate). The impact test frame is composed of a base frame and a guide tube assembly.
Q2: How many models are available, and how do I select the right one?
A: Three models are available, and the selection is based on the maximum pipe diameter to be tested. For example, if the maximum test pipe diameter is 500 mm, the SL-DH500 model is recommended.
Q3: Is customization supported?
A: Yes, customization is supported. Different standards (such as ISO, ASTM, BS EN, etc.) have varying requirements for anvils and impact strikers. We can customize the equipment according to your specified standard.
Q4: Does the equipment come with an automatic rotation function?
A: The standard model does not include an automatic rotation function; however, this feature is available upon request as a custom option.
Q5: How is low-temperature impact testing performed?
A: A low-temperature freezing chamber is placed adjacent to the drop weight impact tester. The test specimens are preconditioned at the specified low temperature, then quickly removed and subjected to impact testing immediately, in accordance with the relevant standard requirements.
